WATCH: Nebraska National Guards drop hay to stranded cattle

Thousands of cattle are stranded in parts of Nebraska with no way to get food until the floods go down. That's where the Nebraska Army National Guard comes in. Soldiers secured ten round bales of hay to a CH-47 Chinook helicopter. They flew over areas near Richland in rural Colfax County Wednesday and dropped them to the hungry cows below. NEMA says the cattle were stranded in several areas, sometimes in several feet of water. The hey drop happened at Wolfe Ranch, a fifth-generation family farm.
